Headshot Retouching in Omaha
What I retouch, what I don't, and why that distinction matters.
Retouching is where a lot of professional headshots fall apart. Either it’s ignored entirely — and the final image has stray hairs, blemishes, and shine that the lighting couldn’t fully fix — or it’s overdone, and the subject ends up looking airbrushed into a department-store mannequin.
My approach sits in the middle. On every finished headshot, I handle:
- Temporary skin issues (a stress breakout, a healing scratch, shine from warm lighting)
- Stray flyaway hairs and clothing lint
- Distracting background elements
- Slight color and exposure corrections for consistency across the team
What I don’t do by default: make people look 15 years younger, erase permanent features (laugh lines, moles, scars), smooth skin into plastic, or reshape faces. Those are all available as a conversation, but they aren’t the standard. The goal is a photo that still looks like the person sitting across from a client, not a stranger wearing their face.
Retouching is included on Prime, Epic, and Individual headshot sessions. It’s optional on the Core tier at $35 per image. Additional retouched files beyond what’s included: $90 each.
Questions about a specific kind of retouch — corporate comp headshots that need to match a 5-year-old team page, or a combined photo where two executives couldn’t be in the studio the same day? Tell me what you need.
